About the Author
Swiyyah Woodard was selected as a Baynews9 Everyday Hero seen by two million viewers for being a mental health activist and teaching her story of surviving paranoid schizophrenia. This book became requried reading for Reading, Writing, Abnormal Psychology, and General Psychology classes. Swiyyah Woodard was born in the projects in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Her father left when she was three years old and she was raised in a single parent home. At the age of five she was molested by her eight year old brother. She later started school. She had slurred speech which made her shy away from making friends. As a result, she was bullied by her peers. Swiyyah was threatened to such a point that she considered ending her own life and searched the medicine cabinet for an answer. She credits God for the lack of pills in the cabinet. At the age of 10 she was severely physically abused by her step father. At the age of 23 the brother who molested her committed suicide. Swiyyah has always viewed herself as normal. She had no disciplinary problems in school, good grades, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida. Upon being diagnosed with Schizophrenia, the most debilitating disorder known in the mental health field, she denied it and cast it aside, questioning the Doctor’s knowledge and refused to take medication. It wasn’t until after being hospitalized a half a dozen times that her family took a picture of her at her worst in hopes that it would convince Swiyyah to get help. After viewing the photographs, she realized she needed help and has been medically compliant now for nine years, without a relapse. Mrs. Woodard is a highly sought after motivational speaker, as well as a writer. “Don’t Call Me Crazy! I’m Just in Love” is inspired by her life story. Among other pertinent information, in her speeches she touches on her walk with God, personal experiences, and shares extensive research and warning signs she exhibited as a child. Falling In Love Can Drive You Insane

Swihhay Muhammad, in her debut novel, gives readers a love story with a twist. Anika and Mosi met in their business class and they immediately hit it off. After eight years, Anika desperately wants to get married but they are still dealing with issues of trust and his infidelity. Mosi tries to convince her of his love but Mary and Rachel, Anika's meddling friends, counter his efforts. As they struggle to make their relationship work, Anika meets David. David, who is sexy and charming becomes infatuated with Anika and begins to stalk her. The story becomes complicated as Anika struggles to deal with everything around her. She becomes stressed, confused and angered. She soon finds herself hospitalized and diagnosed with a mental illness.
Muhammad does a splendid job of telling the inside story of a person struggling with a mental illness. The story was told, however, in third person, which can be difficult for some to read. I would recommend this book to any one interested in understanding a mental illness.

Thank You Swiyyah! This is a very entertaining, and informative story. Each chapter heading made me want to keep turning to see what was next for Anika. I found it very surprising that an individual could look so "well-adjusted" externally, yet be seriously troubled as you vividly described. Also, the overall look of your book is very appealing. After reading "About the Author" I am convinced that yours is an unbreakable spirit; this book HAD to be written...thank you for doing so!

This is an outstanding piece of work.Swiyyah really shares with us many unique ways to look for deeper truths and lessons from people most of us have met.
I myself had an experience with a person like anika but it ended up exactly the same way it ended with anika.I reccomend this book just to understand how people in any relationship change later.
