About the Author
Mark Nesbitt is the author of the popular Ghosts of Gettysburg, a six-volume series that received the National Paranormal Award in 2004. Formerly a National Park Service ranger and then a battlefield guide, he has lived in Gettysburg since 1971.

Well researched book of Civil War hauntings

In the tradition of other Mark Nesbitt books, "Civil War Ghost Trails" tackles the history and the supernatural associate with critical battlefields of the American Civil War.
Instead of just writing about experiences people have had when visiting or working at the battlefield sites, Mr. Nesbitt gives a comprehensive history of what transpired during the war. From battle tactics to intense details of the conditions the soldiers experienced, you are transported back to understand why many believe there are souls that could not or would not leave.
Mr. Nebitt is best known for his series of "Ghosts of Gettysburg" books, and does include a story or two about that battlefield - but so many other sites are covered in this book. Antietam, Wilderness, Cold Harbor, Fredericksbug, and many many more.
Even if you don't believe in anything supernatural, just reading this for the history is a good reason to purchase this book.

If you like haunted tales tangled with history this is a must read, and I certainly do living on historical haunted land myself. The author writes beautifully telling the soldiers stories.

Great Book

If you've read the Ghosts of Gettysburg series then this is a must read. I've actually went on walking tours with Mark Nesbit's Ghosts of Gettysburg, and the stories from not only Gettysburg, but other civil war sites are fascinating.
