Great book with some very natural obstacles
By C. Williams
We start in 1992 with Sarah and Cahal - completely and totally in love. Cahal is about to graduate and Sarah still has a few years to go, but they have a plan to be together the rest of their lives. Sarah's father and grandmother are completely against the relationship, and in fact refuse to accept Cahal in any way.
We jump ahead to 2012 and learn that they did not stay together, in fact they each married others and have families. But they are pushed together all this time and it seems that the same feelings are there. But now there are so many obstacles to a happily ever after.
Wow, what a great book! I totally enjoyed their story - the unfolding of what happened back in 1992 to them was revealed a bit at a time. I love the characters, although of course some people acted very selfishly, which made me crazy! There's a great ending, all quite believable to me.
Set in Ireland, with a bit of Australia as well.
I will definitely look for more by this author, and highly recommend this book.

Another Good Erin Kaye
By BOOK WORM
This book, although a little predictable in places kept me wanting to go back and read until the end. The rekindling of a romance
between the two main characters after a space of twenty years and the entwined reasons as to why their parting was for such a long time, adds more than a little intrigue to the plot. One of those books you dont want to end as the characters are so believable but on the other hand you just HAVE to know how it all ends.

Lovely love story
By Sherry C
For anyone who has had a thrilling, all consuming first love that didn't turn into forever when you thought and hoped it might, and who has wondered over the years 'what if...' - this is a story you will just sink into and enjoy from start to finish. Sarah and Cahal fall in love at university, and for them it's forever. Except that it doesn't quite work out that way. Twenty years later, divorced and still thinking about the life she might have had had she been braver or made a different choice, Sarah meets Cahal again at a work function. He's back in Belfast for six months working on contract with the company she works for, and they reconnect. They did not part amicably and for both of them there has been twenty years of unanswered questions, anger and pain, so their reunion is not a joyful or smooth one at first. They are older, both have children, and he lives on the other side of the world in Australia. There are complications that mean a happily-ever-after looks unlikely for them. I won't give too much away, suffice to say it's not all doom and gloom, and this story shows that sometimes that first-love intensity does not disappear as the years go by, even if the person you loved then is different now, and even though your lives have taken different paths to the ones you imagined when you were together and young and full of hope for the future. It's never too late to make different choices; to follow your heart where once you may have let your head, or other people's wishes for you win out. This is a story of second chances, and hope and first love, and also being true to yourself, even if that is the hardest thing to do at the time. Sometimes, if you don't listen to your own heart, you can lose far more than you would have gained.
